          FAQ

For reference:

  • Bridal makeover: 12-18 months in advance.
  • Personal or Valakappu events: 3-6 months in advance.
  • Henna services: 1-3 months in advance.
  • If I work alone: 1 hour for makeup, 1 hour for hair, and 30 mins for saree draping.

Yes, makeup trials are offered exclusively for bridal clients.

  • Hindu Temple brides: One complimentary trial is included in the bridal package. Temple weddings involve significantly more details, including multiple accessories change. Additionally, the time allocated for the muhurtham saree change is often extremely limited (approximately 10–15 minutes max).
The complimentary trial allows all details to be finalised in advance, ensuring a smooth, stress-free transition on the wedding day, providing both the bride and myself with complete confidence and peace of mind.
  • Engagement / Reception/ ROM /Church / Nikkah brides: Trials are available at an additional charge and will be scheduled upon request.
  • Non-bridal: Trials are not offered

My trial session is complimentary only for confirmed brides; it is completely FOC and not a hidden cost within my package price. It isn’t meant to ‘try and see’ if I’m the right artist, but rather for us to fine-tune and finalise your exact bridal look once your booking is secured.

I would recommend this complimentary trial to be held close to the wedding, around 1-2 months before, after your wedding sarees and jewellery have been purchased. I would need you to bring these along for the trial, so that we can create a cohesive look together, making sure all the elements look good together.

If you’d like to have a trial before confirming your package, it will be chargeable at $150 as a separate service and this fee cannot be waived later.

  • Hair: Avoid cutting your hair (especially layering) before your wedding or event, as longer hair allows for more styling options. Please also refrain from hair rebonding, keratin treatments, or hair botox for at least 3 months prior, as overly smooth hair may not hold styles well.
  • Workspace: Please provide a well-lit, clean and adequate workspace for makeup and hair services. A minimum setup space equivalent to one dining table or half to one queen-size bed, free of obstructions, is required. The surface should be above knee height; coffee tables, sofas, top of chest drawers or TV consoles are unsuitable. Cramped or unconducive environments can compromise the quality of service and may impact the artist’s health (e.g., back strain). If adequate space is not available upon arrival, I reserve the right to decline to proceed without a refund.
  • Additional prep: Detailed instructions regarding skincare, hair, and other preparation will be provided closer to your appointment date to ensure optimal results
  • Please visit my home studio in person to provide your sarees at least 7 business days before your collection date. Measurement taking is compulsory for accurate pleating.
  • Pleating options:

o Default: Box fold (can be collected in-person or  via                third-party delivery services).

o  Optional: Fluffy pleats or hanger fold  (additional                    charges apply; in-person collection is required,  to prevent damage during          transit).

  • Once the sarees are ready, I will notify you for collection.
  • Please note: I do not transport sarees to appointments. It is the client’s responsibility to collect them.

I offer a curated selection of jewellery sets exclusively for my bridal and Valakappu clients, as part of a thoughtfully styled and cohesive bridal experience.

A refundable safety deposit is required for the use of these sets. This deposit will be fully refunded upon the safe and timely return of all pieces in their original condition. Each item in my collection has been carefully hand-selected and personally invested in to complement my signature aesthetic. The safety deposit is in place to ensure that any potential loss or damage can be appropriately covered.

For clients seeking a wider or more elaborate selection, I have an established collaboration with a bridal boutique, Bridal Mantra, where additional pieces can be arranged.

Absolutely. Please inform me of any allergies, sensitivities, or skin concerns prior to your appointment. A patch test can be arranged if necessary.

Yes absolutely! In fact you’re encouraged to send inspiration photos so I can better understand your preferences and desired style. Please note the following.

  • Submission timing: Please send your inspiration photos at least 1 month before your event. This allows sufficient time to review your requested looks and discuss any necessary adjustments, such as hair extensions, accessories, or alternative styles that may better suit your features.
  • Reference purpose: Inspiration images are used for reference only. Many online photos, especially from Pinterest, may be heavily filtered, photoshopped, or AI-generated, and may not accurately reflect real-life textures or colors. The final look cannot be replicated exactly, as it will depend on your skin tone, facial features, hair texture, length, volume, haircut, and color. Rest assured, I will always strive to create a look inspired by your chosen style while enhancing your natural features.

With proper skin preparation and professional application, bridal makeup is designed to last 8–10 hours, though this can vary depending on your skin type, weather, and activity level.

How you care for your makeup during the day also affects its longevity. Avoid rubbing or touching your face, and gently dab (don’t wipe) sweat or tears with tissue. While I can use waterproof products, there is no truly tear-proof makeup — tears and sweat contain salt and oils that may cause makeup to break down in certain areas. Proper care is therefore essential to keep your look fresh throughout the day.

Touch-up services can be arranged upon request, depending on the package booked and the event duration.

Yes! Package deals are available if you book multiple services, such as bridal makeup + henna, ensuring a seamless experience on your special day.

Last-minute bookings may be possible depending on availability, but an additional fee may apply. It’s always best to book early to secure your preferred date and time.
